What you're signing for when the kit lands.

This is a plain-English summary of the hire agreement supplied with every kit. The full signed agreement, printed and slipped into the kit box, is what binds you and us legally.

The kit

Each kit is documented with a serial-numbered inventory sheet. On arrival, please check every item against the sheet within 24 hours and email us if anything is missing or damaged in transit. After 24 hours of silence, we treat the inventory as accepted in full.

Replacement costs (if lost or wilfully damaged)

• Cinema camera body: $2,800 each
• Lens: $900 each
• Wireless lapel mic set: $650 per pair
• Tripod / monopod: $250 each
• LED light panel: $350 each
• SD card (with footage): $250 — replacement is meaningless if the footage is lost
• Pelican kit case: $400

These are replacement costs only, charged at our actual cost to replace. We never charge mark-up on damaged gear.

What's covered for free

• Accidental drops, knocks, and bumps during normal wedding use.
• Liquid damage from typical wedding mishaps (champagne, rain, spilled water).
• Heat or humidity damage from typical Australian conditions.
• Reasonable wear and tear.

What's not covered

• Loss of the kit or any item (you, the hirer, are responsible).
• Theft or attempted theft.
• Damage from deliberate misuse (e.g. swimming with the camera).
• Damage occurring in transit when you did not use the supplied return label.

Return

Return the kit within 72 hours of the wedding. Hand it to any Australia Post outlet using the prepaid return label. Hold onto the lodgement receipt until we confirm safe arrival.

Late return

Late returns delay the next couple's wedding. Returns more than 72 hours late are charged $200 per additional weekday until the kit arrives back.

Signing

By using the kit, you confirm you have read, understood, and accepted this agreement and the full version printed inside the kit box. If you have questions, email hello@bigdayfilms.au before the wedding.
